Structural Detailer

3.1 Structural Detailer 

SJW Engineering provides design and engineering services to a wide variety of industries. The industries we service include automotive, residential, and commercial building, industrial, aerospace, oil and gas, and renewable energy. We are licensed in multiple states. 

The structural detailer will be responsible for the following tasks: 

Assist the structural engineer as necessary with preparation of drawings, renderings, and details to complete project documentation. This may involve all portions from conceptualization to final design. 

Attend meetings with customers as necessary to understand design intent and requirements. 

The candidate will excel if they can take on and improve our rendering capabilities and work with the structural engineer to improve drafting standards. 

The structural detailer must adhere to the drafting standards as developed previously and those to be developed. 

The structural detailer may be required to come on site periodically for educational purposes or to help take measurements. This is particularly beneficial to see how steel structures are erected or how concrete reinforcement is assembled. 

Necessary Qualifications: 

Self-starter 

Ability to work with minimal supervision 

Auto CAD experience 

Drafting experience 

Pursuing, planning to pursue, or in possession of an associate’s degree, or bachelors degree 

Please note that if applicants do not posses the preferred qualifications, training can be provided. Training is to be self-paced with input from the Structural Engineer.

Construction or fix-it Experience 

Revit Experience 

Chief Architect Experience 

SolidWorks Experience
